Project Information Hotline: 855.312-7444 (toll free) for questions about track construction or roadyway/rail grade crossing improvements.

Railroad Crossings:  888.412.3330 (toll free) to report a question or concern related to any SMART roadway/rail grade crossing (stalled vehicle blocking crossing, suspected problems with crossing gate function, or other emergency). For a fire or police emergency always call 9-1-1.

Please make sure you have the Crossing ID number (a unique number for each crossing assigned by the Department of Transportation) before you call.  This number is displayed on the blue and white sign at each crossing (look for it on the silver signal cabinet at each crossing.)

The SMART District Office is located in the Redwood Business Park in northern Petaluma.

From the North: 

  • Head South on US-101.
  • Take exit 476 for Petaluma Blvd. N toward Penngrove (onto Old Redwood Hwy North).
  • Turn left onto Old Redwood Hwy North.
  • At the third intersection, turn left onto North McDowell Blvd (Extension).
  • Turn right immediately, into the parking lot.  5401 is the white building at the east end of the lot.      

From the South:

  • Head North on US-101.
